Bioré Triple Action Toner [REVIEW]

My current toner at the moment is this Bioré toner.

To me it's a very strong toner and I don't think it's suitable for young skin or sensitive skin. It is oil-free with Salicylic Acid and Witch Hazel. It's definitely not alcohol-free as the alcohol smell is so strong when it's applied on my face. It claims to Cleanse, Tightens & Clears the skin, hence the 'Triple Action' name.
It comes in a big bottle of 250ml, which is quite a lot and I'm having a hard time finishing it. I've bought this ages ago but I hardly use it due to the strong alcohol smell and the harsh feeling it gives me (it's like applying alcohol to your face!) so I still have a little less than half of the bottle left.
It's refreshing after applying on your skin, and your skin may look a bit shiny afterwards, I guess it's just the result of all the excess dirt and oil being removed.
After cleansing my face with a cleanser, I wet a cotton pad with the toner to wipe my face in an upward motion, all over the face and neck, and I usually get some extra dirt on the cotton pad afterwards.

This is the back of the bottle:
OVERALL...
PROS:
*Removes excess dirt and oil after cleansing
*Gives a cool, refreshing feel to the skin after application
*Big bottle, could last for a while

CONS:
*Smells of alcohol and smells too strong (it does fade after a while)
*Feels harsh on young skin
*Skin would be too dry afterwards if moisturiser is not applied immediately

I don't recommend this toner for young people, it could be fine to older adults or people with extremely oily skin, but for young skin like mine, I would look for a more gentle toner that's oil-free and alcohol-free. I can't wait to buy another toner after finishing this.

Nivea Visage Young - Wash Off Efffective Cleansing Gel [REVIEW]

Hello there! This will be my first review, and the first product I'm reviewing today is the Cleansing Gel from Nivea. I have been using this product for about 2 years now and this is the best cleanser so far for me. (Note: it doesn't last for 2 years, I've been re-buying this products a few times!)

Here's what it looks like:
This cleanser is from the Young range, it is best for teenagers and young adults since the formula is not as strong and harsh for young skin. It is oil-free, with ocean minerals to help prevent impurities.

This is a close up of the front:
It comes in a  200ml plastic bottle, which lasts for a while as you don't need much for your face and neck. Yes, this is for Combination & Oily Skin, so your skin will feel fresh and matte after washing it off.

This is what it looks like on the back:
This is what it claims to do:
  • Effectively removes dirt, grease, face and eye make up
  • Mildly cleanses and refreshes without drying out the skin
  • Helps prevent impurities

To me, this product works as well as it claims to do, it's very mild and gentle on my skin but at the same time effectively removes all my make-up, dirt, and oil. I don't get any pimples from it as well.
This is the amount that I use each time. This is enough to cover my whole face and neck. Since it is a gel, it goes on smoothly and helps me feel any bumps and blemishes easier when washing my face so I can concentrate more on that area. It is not a foaming gel, so there's no bubbles that can come into contact with the eyes.

OVERALL...
PROS:
*Mild for young skin but strong enough for combination & oily skin
*Removes light make-up
*Leaves skin soft, matte and clean
*Smells like... aqua/water I guess? Not very strong though so I can't really tell.
*Thick gel that's easy to spread (Add a little bit of water if it's hard to spread)
*Does not clog pores so it does not cause acne.
*Not too expensive (around $8.50) and available at most drug stores or Woolworths, Coles, Big W etc...

CONS:
*None at the moment :)

I recommend this cleanser for young people who wants a mild cleanser that works on combination & oily skin!

Skin Routine

Let's start off with basics. If you want to have a natural-looking flawless skin, foundation and concealer are not the answers. The more you conceal, the more your pores will be blocked and this causes break outs and pimples. Always keep your face clean so you don't get pimples and you can save time and money on make-up.

Number 1 Rule: NEVER TOUCH YOUR FACE WITH DIRTY HANDS! Even if your hands look clean, you should never touch your face unless you have just washed them with soap/hand wash. Your hands  can easily transfer dirt and bacteria, causing pimples!

Skin care routine:
*Remember to do your skin care routine twice a day!*

Step 1: Cleanse your face and neck with a cleanser. (Don't forget the neck, our poor neck is often neglected but it is exposed to the external environment just as much as the face!)
Step 2: Wet a cotton pad with toner and wipe your face in an upward motion. Toner helps remove dirt further. Some toners can dry your skin out so make sure it is alcohol-free.
Step 3: Apply an oil-free moisturiser all over face and neck. Oil-free moisturisers don't block pores so they prevent pimples, great for oily/combination skin type, but also for (some) dry skin.

*Exfoliate and apply face masks 2-3 times a week too to keep your skin soft and healthy!*

Ta da! Your routine is complete! Now you can apply your make-up or other extra products to nourish your skin. I will post the products that I use and review on them later so stay tuned :)
